The Clinic for Urology, Urological Oncology, and Robot-Assisted Surgery at St. Antonius Hospital in Gronau is one of the best urology departments in Germany. In the latest study by the F.A.Z. Institute and the ServiceValue analysis platform, the urology department scored 96.9 out of 100 points, placing it second among all urology clinics nationwide – regardless of the number of beds. In North Rhine-Westphalia, the clinic ranks first.
The evaluation is based on a combination of objective quality reports, patient experiences (including via Klinikbewertungen.de), social media monitoring, and key figures from the Federal Hospital Atlas. The study thus offers a particularly comprehensive and independent assessment of the quality of care.
“This result confirms our claim to combine urology at the highest medical level with empathy and personal closeness,” says Dr. Christian Wagner, one of the four chief physicians of urology in Gronau.
In addition to urology, the entire St. Antonius Hospital Gronau was recognized as one of the three best hospitals in Germany in the 150 to 300 bed category – with an impressive 98.1 points in the overall rating. Managing Director Christoph Bröcker speaks of a “great success for the entire team” at St. Antonius Hospital.
The urology department in Gronau is known nationwide for its specialization in robot-assisted prostate surgery and state-of-the-art laser medicine. For many years, patients from all over Germany and abroad have been treated here with the highest level of medical expertise and individual care.
Data from a total of 1,820 hospitals was evaluated for the study. Since 2018, the F.A.Z. Institute has been conducting this independent analysis annually to provide patients with sound guidance when choosing a hospital.
