For many years, the Department of Urology in Gronau has been using state-of-the-art laser technology for the treatment of urological conditions. This long-standing expertise ensures that our patients benefit from both the experience of our surgical team and the advantages of the most modern equipment available.
A particular focus lies on the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) – an enlarged prostate – as well as the use of laser surgery for kidney stones, bladder stones, and ureteral stones. These procedures are performed minimally invasively and with maximum precision, resulting in faster recovery and shorter hospital stays for our patients.
To consolidate our expertise and offer laser treatments at the highest international level, the Laser Center Gronau was founded in 2024.
In urology, a wide range of different lasers are used. At the Laser Center Gronau, we have expanded our already advanced technology with the addition of two of the latest-generation lasers:
These systems provide a broad spectrum of treatment options. In the hands of experienced surgeons, they enable highly effective and particularly gentle procedures for both urinary stones and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Many men over the age of 50 suffer from an enlarged prostate (BPH). Thanks to modern medications and minimally invasive surgical techniques, this condition can now be treated very effectively.
At Urology Gronau, we offer the Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) – a minimally invasive, gentle surgical method. During HoLEP, the excess prostate tissue that blocks the urethra and causes urinary problems is carefully removed with a laser. The removed tissue is then fragmented in the bladder and extracted through the urethra.
A key advantage of HoLEP is that the removed tissue can be examined by a pathologist. This allows for the early detection of prostate cancer, giving patients the opportunity for timely treatment with significantly improved chances of cure.
At the Laser Center Gronau, the latest laser systems are also used to precisely fragment kidney, bladder, and ureteral stones before removal. This gentle, highly effective method allows for stone treatment with minimal discomfort and short recovery time.
For patients insured in Germany, all laser treatments are fully covered by both statutory and private health insurance, with no out-of-pocket costs for the patient.
For international patients, we provide transparent cost estimates and support with insurance inquiries and medical travel arrangements. Our dedicated International Office assists patients from the USA and worldwide in organizing their treatment, travel, and recovery in Germany.
