Gronau, November 7, 2025. Once again this year, St. Antonius Hospital in Gronau is promoting men's health with its Movember team “Bärte ohne Grenzen” (Beards Without Borders). With creative campaigns, donation initiatives, and educational work, employees, patients, and supporters of the urology clinic and the Prostata Centrum Gronau (PCG) are drawing attention to topics that men don't like to talk about: prostate and testicular cancer and mental illnesses such as depression.

A highlight of this year's Movember activities begins on Sunday, November 9: an original painting by Udo Lindenberg, which the Gronau-born artist created especially for the Movember campaign in Gronau, will be auctioned on eBay for Charity. The proceeds from the auction will go to the Movember Foundation – for research, prevention, and education in the field of men's health.

“We are very happy about this tremendous support,” says Dr. Christian Wagner, team captain of “Bärte ohne Grenzen” and one of the chief physicians in the urology department at St. Antonius Hospital in Gronau. “Every year, we see how much positive energy is generated by the joint effort – and how important it is to encourage men to talk openly about their health.”

The Movember movement began in Australia in 2003, when a few friends grew moustaches in November as a joke. This grew into a global initiative: the “Mo” – short for Moustache – became the symbol for better men's health. Today, millions of people around the world take part in fundraising activities, events, and awareness campaigns. The goal is to motivate men to get preventive checkups, pay attention to their mental health, and support each other.

The “Bärte ohne Grenzen” (Beards Without Borders) team from Gronau was founded in 2014 at St. Antonius Hospital. With creative activities such as benefit concerts, an indoor cycling event, and the traditional charity stand at the Nikolaus-Knobeln in Bad Bentheim on December 6, the team raises money for the Movember Foundation every year.

Another highlight for the whole family this year is the benefit concert with the children's rock band “Randale” on November 29, 2025, at the Turbine music club in Gronau (starting at 3 p.m.). Tickets are available in the ticket shop.
